Cook Medical has released its Social Impact & Sustainability Report for 2023, highlighting the company’s commitment to working sustainably and responsibly across all of its businesses while fulfilling its purpose to improve the lives of everyone it serves.
The report covers activities accomplished by Cook’s teams around the world to positively impact the communities where they live and work, promote social justice, protect and enhance local environments, and reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
The activities may vary by location, but together they enhance the health and quality of life for the people they work with and serve, protect the environment, and enable social development.
Cook’s social impact and sustainability efforts will continue to go beyond philanthropy, volunteerism, and measuring environmental performance. It will use its core skills and resources as a way of doing good business and making a positive impact in the world.

2023 Social Impact & Sustainability highlights:
- Recertified for ISO 14001 and 50001 in Ireland and recertified for ISO 14001 at Cook Winston-Salem and Denmark.
- Opened the Indy Fresh Market, a new full-service grocery store in a food desert in Indianapolis.
- Launched workforce housing initiative in Owen County, Indiana.
- Sponsored multiple community events, including Cook Medical Mini Marathon, Limerick; Hoosiers Outrun Cancer, Bloomington; and Beat-the-Heat, Winston-Salem.
- Strengthened Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and introduced new Business Resource Groups.
- Continued focus to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 carbon emissions globally.
